ECMI is excited to welcome Heidi Stanton-Drew as our next Executive Director! Many duties of this position were previously served by Nancy Colter, founder of ECMI, and she will continue on in the role of artistic director.
Along with managing the day to day operations, Heidi will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for ECMI’s staff, programs, development activities, and the execution of our mission. She will work alongside Nancy to guide ECMI through our next period of growth.
Heidi served ECMI as a consultant for nearly a decade and was instrumental in setting up our systems and programming. Our successful Crescendo Campaign provided the funding to hire an executive director and Heidi will work with the Board to bring the campaign to full fruition; ensuring fine classical music instruction and performances for generations to come in Downeast Maine.
If you'd like to talk with Heidi, please email her at director@ellsworthcommunitymusic.org
Students, family, and friends gathered on the 24th of May for ECMI's Spring Student Recital. A special faculty member, Tamara Thomas, was recognized for her 11 years of dedication to classical piano instruction to ECMI students. We were proud to showcase so many of our dedicated students and the hard work they demonstrated through their performances.
ECMI featured an area string trio, the 45th Parallel, for our final Midday Concert of the 2023-2024 season on May 24. We look forward to a new season of Free Midday Concerts beginning in September 2024. These concerts are made possible with the generous support of the City of Ellsworth and private donors, such as you. Thank you for another year of helping make music accessible to all.
CHAMBER MUSIC LISTENING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS!
We applaud the Mt. Desert Festival of Chamber Music for their generous support of Ellsworth Community Music Institute by offering free admission to all ECMI Students 18 and under to any of their world-class concerts in July and August.
