  • Moore Community Center 125 State Street Ellsworth, Maine 04605 United States (map)

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ATTENDEES: The concert will be held in person in the Moore Community Center ATRIUM, 125 State Street, Ellsworth, Maine. Due to COVID-19 considerations the audience will be limited to 50 members and seats will be filled first come, first served. Masks will be optional.

ELLSWORTH - Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) concludes the 2021-2022 season of Midday Concerts @ 1:00 on June 10. The concert will be performed by the Gypsy Jazz trio, Mes Amis.

Mes Amis is a Gypsy Jazz trio led by guitarist, vocalist and composer Steve Lynnworth. The band plays a mix of traditional Gypsy, Latin and American jazz standards along with many of Steve’s original compositions.

Along with Lynnworth the group features Shane Ellis on clarinet, saxophone and flute, Harry Richter on rhythm guitar and Duane Edwards on upright bass.

Appealing to listeners young and old alike, the insistent rhythms, bouncing bass lines and sweetly intricate melodies are easy on the ears for those unfamiliar with jazz, and yet can stand the scrutiny of an aficionado. As it was so aptly put by Rich Tozier, host of MPBN Radio’s Jazz Tonight, “Who couldn’t like that?”

This concert series is sponsored by Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) with funding from the Onion Foundation and the City of Ellsworth. Admission is free to the public.

This is the last concert in the 2021-2022 season and concerts will resume in the fall of 2022.
